Different Types of Love
Raymond Carver is a great short story writer. His writings include things that interest him, and he tries to write with honesty to make his stories sound real. Raymond Carver includes love in "Cathedral", "A Small Good Thing", and "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love"; however, each love is different.
In "Cathedral", Carver expresses love through a friendship. As the story starts, the narrator seems to be jealous of the blind man and did not like him. "I saw my wife laughing as she parked the car. I saw her get out of the car and shut the door. She was still wearing a smile. Just amazing" (450). The narrator makes it sound as if he never sees his wife smile...
