Alcohol Abuse
These days in the world alcohol is a normal part of life, and many people drink it a lot. Most people seem to think that it is not really harmful and think of alcohol as the same as any other drink. ... This is where some peoples’ addition and alcohol abuse starts. There is a terrible problem with underage drinking and alcohol abuse now in the world. ...
In the bible it absolutely forbids drunkenness but does not disapprove alcohol in moderation. ...
It also has a verse which talks about addiction and how it is wrong
‘woe to those who wake up in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up all night till they are drunk with wine they have music and lyres at their feasts, tambourines flutes and wine, but they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord, and no such respect for the work of his hands (Isaiah 5:11-12)
Alcohol in the days of the bible was not as strong, it was one third of the content that it is nowadays and alcohol was also used as an antiseptic and medicine.
