Thomas Edison has contributed many wonderful attributes to this society. He was a very important individual and inventor. He invented a variety of products such as synthetic rubber for tires and battery insulation, improvement of trans mission of the telephone, recorded voices on a disc for a phonograph, and x-rays, that have effected the present day. He was born on February eleventh, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. He died in West Orange, New Jersey on October eighteenth, 1931 ("Thomas Alva Edison, 1847-1931"). As a tribute to such a great inventor Americans dimmed their electrical lights for one minute ("Thomas Alva Edison, 1847-1931"par.5). Thomas Edison is a hero because without his accomplishments, inventions, and his influence, life would be totally different.
In his lifetime, he accomplished more than any one man or woman should have achieved. By 1888, he was one of Americas ranking industrialists...
