Death of the Death Penality

The death penalty is a very controversial topic. There are strong arguments from people supporting the death penalty and strong arguments from those opposed to it. Those people who support it argue that it affirms life, that it is the only way to bring justice, that convicts will kill again if not executed, and that it is a good deterrent of crime. Those opposed to the death penalty argue that it is barbaric, no other democracy uses it, so many inmates can't be executed, that it is a burden on the courts, and that the state is sanctioned murder, just to name a few. The fact of the matter is the death penalty is wrong because it takes the life of a human being. No matter how you look at it, it is murder.
First of all, there is no way murder can be justified with murder. If the government lashes out at those who commit murder with murder, what kind of example is the government setting for society. The state shouldn't be given the right to murder if its citizens aren't allowed to murder.
Another reason why the death penalty shouldn't be allowed is because the government and tax payers have to pay for all the appeals and all the time spent in the court room in a death penalty case...
