Sports Heroes
When you think of sports heroes, the ones that usually come to mind are those of Michael Jordan, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds and Allen Iverson just to name a few. Yea sure these guys are all heroes in their athletic abilities but can you consider them acceptable role models? Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds, and Michael Jordan all have adopted these attitudes that make them higher than everyone else.
Allen Iverson, a man who has been criticized for his bad boy attitude, not going to practice because it's just "practice." That same Iverson who was arrested for throwing his wife out of the house and threatening two men at a motel, the same Iverson whose only responsibility to the team comes on game day. Can you call Allen Iverson a hero, or someone we can look up to and strive to be like? We all know Babe Ruth, the ladies man, a guy who could do anything he wanted with anyone he wanted. He was the all time king or prostitution.
Mickey Mantle, as most Americans picture him as one of the greatest baseball players that ever lived, a guy who was voted into the hall of fame. But most people don't know that the great Mantle would drink before and during games...
