Potrayed as figures of authority, men have power over women, they are overbaring and self centered. Through out the film men push women around exsepcially Bill Heslop, believeing they have authority over women and that they own them. This is a typically link to men in this era because times have not changed yet, men are still consided higher that men and not equal. Although men do not play a central role in this film it is clear their presents are here and that there influences play a central role.
