1. How effective was Glucksman in his new position? What could/should he have done differently?
How effective Glucksman was in his new position is discussable, but it is obvious that he did not have success in his leadership strategy or one could say lack of strategy. The reasons are many, but his main problem seems to be that he was too self-centered and did not concentrate on the image given to the rest of the company. There are many indicators of his lack of leadership strategy.
First, he reorganized the leadership of the firm by shuffling jobs and making enemies. This he did by promoting his friends and moving people he did not like to less important positions. An example is Sheldon S. Gordon who was set to run the banking division after a career in sales and trading...
