My first experience of interacting with patients was very beneficial. My patient, H.Z., was an eighty-three year old female suffering from degenerative joint disease in her feet and ankle. When I first arrived at the hospital with my peers I was extremely nervous. I didn't really know what to expect or what was expected of me so I was hesitant of the whole experience. After receiving the information about my patient, I was a little bit more comfortable with the situation. At first I was concerned that I might not be able to understand the patient or that my patient wouldn't really want to talk to me but Dr. Mortimer reassured me that it would be okay.
