Everyday Americans are unknowingly subjected to different
kinds of sublimial messages about gender, stereotypes, and body images. These messages come from the mass media. We can find the media everywhere, on t.v., magazines, billboards, movies, and music. A deeper look into the mass media, findings show that it is full of stereotypical portrayals of gender, social norms, and sexism. And while times are changing, with more equality between gender than was seen one hundred years ago, the media changes very little in spite of this. This paper will cover different forms of mass media, and how they depict the male and female genders differently.
