OBE or Outcome-Based education says the purpose of education is to change the thoughts, feelings and actions of students. People, parents in specific, do not realize what changes the schools are doing to the curriculum. Bob Unger, a New York attorney, and his wife were confused at a math problem their son had brought home from school. The problem read, "There are ten children in the small school Samuel goes to. There are five jars of paint. How many children can paint?" is this really a math problem? After trying to work the problem for several hours they faxed it to their CPA. They later learned from the school that the answer to the problem was: "if they share they can all paint." This problem does not teach the student basic math but rather "basic" social skills...
