Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan near Detroit. Since her mother's tragic death due to cancer when she was only five years old, Madonna learned form a young age to deal with whatever life put in front of her. Her father Sylvio Ciccone raised her family of 7 other silblings with a strong Catholoc background as well as a discipline work ethic. Coping with a great responsibility at home, Madonna took on a motherly role to her beothers and sisters wihich in turn gave her a strong determination to succedd not only as a performer but to be a loving mother as well.
