The Mystery of the Missing Mystery
The 1870's were years of mystery and inscrutability. Many inconspicuous things had turned up missing. People were left to anxiousness, because they did not know when something unusual would happen. Many went to the police, but they took it as a joke and something that was not serious enough to investigate. The natives of Germany and France were left to find others that resembled the great Sherlock Holmes in the novels and stories. But the mysteries were fathomless and could not even begin to make sense. Until, one day when a man by the name of V`ernio Lasille received a strange, young lady at his door.
I heard the bell from the door ring. I went to the door and opened it up cautiously, as one cannot be too careful. What I saw beyond the doorway was a striking young lady who appeared to be wealthy...
