Why the Drinking Age Should Not be Lowered
In the United States of America, when an individual turns the age of twenty-one, he or she is able to buy and consume alcohol legally. The Minimum Drinking Age Act was passed in 1984, requiring all states to increase they legal drinking age to twenty-one, or lose out on Federal Highway Funds. Since then, many lives have been saved by minimum drinking age laws. They are many reasons on why the drinking age should not be lowered.
One major reason why they drinking age should not be lowered is accidents. The leading cause of death of teens between the ages of fifteen and twenty-four is automobile accidents that are alcohol related. According to A.C.
