Edgar Allan Poe
One of Poe's greatest and most well known works was The Raven. This poem showed his diverse ability to use rhyme and rhythm within his poems. This poem still to this day captivates its readers with the profound use of rhymes. Edgar Allan Poe was one of the best poets of his day and is still a lingering influence on poets today and future poets to come. His life and works are and always will be an influence on every culture.
Best known for his poems and short fiction, Edgar Allan Poe, born in Boston, Jan. 19, 1809, died Oct. 7, 1849 in Baltimore, deserves more credit than any other writer for the transformation of the short story from anecdote to art.
