In today's uncertain economy, getting a degree in Pharmacy provides a university student interested in biology with many opportunities. Students can work in a variety of fields including Pharmaceutical Sales, Researches, and Education. A pharmacy degree requires at least six years study. Salaries for pharmacists range between forty-five and hundred thousand dollars a year. Pharmacists can work in "chain" drug stores, hospitals, clinics, or pharmaceutical factories. They can also go back to school and specialize in a particular area. A pharmacist plays a major role in the patient-physician-pharmacist relationship where all concerned work for the health and well being of the patient.
In order to become a licensed pharmacist, one must successfully complete a six-year pharmacy program at an accredited university. More than forty states in the U S offer a pharmacy program.
