The War on Iraq
Does the weather affect the war and how does the war affect the soldiers and their families? The war in Iraq has not only been troublesome for the soldiers, but their families also. The United States need to put the war to an end fast before we get ourselves in a whole heap of trouble.
The weather in Iraq is usually not too bad mostly hot and windy. But when the storms arrive it leaves the soldiers with a lot more worries than they have to begin with. In a quote from People Magazine Jeff Bush states, "Every time we're at a stop and go pace, we're sitting out here like ducks in a row"(In 56). The slow moving pace is due to the extreme winds during sandstorms in the desert of Iraq. In Newsweek Magazine Arian Campo-Flores states, "the soldiers arrived at their destination five hours later after just traveling five miles"(Campo 30). These reports leave us to wonder if our soldiers are safe at all fighting over in Iraq. Not only are the soldiers in trouble, but their equipment is being damaged by the tiny sand particles...
