The United States of America has been fighting an ongoing battle trying to secure its borders. The events of nine eleven were an eye opener to all citizens of this country. The fact that undocumented citizens can live here without our authorities knowing about it is a danger to the well-being and security of our country. If the government wishes to provide domestic tranquility and ensure the safety of the American people, they must take a stand and secure their policies regarding illegal aliens. Steven Camarota, Michelle Malkin, and John Sweeny discuss how we need to keep better track of illegal aliens and that the INS is not doing its job as well as they should be. When I was younger, I attempted to make money by mowing peoples lawns that lived near me. I had no mode of transportation, so I had to find employers that lived within walking distance to my home. I found it very difficult to find any lawn jobs because the people who lived near me hired Hispanic people to do their lawn work. When I think about all of the money I could have made if I could have had more employers, it makes me mad that people who are staying here illegally and do not pay any kind of taxes are taking jobs that I could have had. Even today, I have worked at a restaurant for about three years, and every single dishwasher that we employ is Hispanic. I do not know if they are legal or not, but whenever I try to get my friends dishwashing jobs, my employer always says that they have enough dishwashers. The illegal immigrants are taking jobs that citizens of this country could have.
