Biology In A Modern World
Biology is the scientific study of life. Biology itself is a broad field that covers many aspects of our daily life. Biology is important in a modern world because it is used for paternity testing, detecting disease, pharmacology, and the forensics field.
Biology is important in paternity testing because specific chromosomes are being observed. The chromosome shows DNA that comes from the mother and the father. The DNA of the mother and child is examined first, this examination automatically tells what genetic marker comes from the mother. Having knowledge of this information reveals which marker came from the child's biological father. A man that is the paternal the child will have a DNA marker that matches the child. In some cases if the alleged fathers paternal marker does not match the child further test are done to see if the mismatches are genetic mutations.
