A Rose in Resting
"A Rose For Emily" it shows that when times change in the way of people doing things and growing up, not all the people are in that same time changing mode. For instance when Miss Emily's father had died, she could not let go. She kept the body for as long as she could before the law took it away. She could not handle, nor accept, the change that this death of her father would affect her lifestyle. This may have a little bit to do with the fact that the prominent family had a mental history that haunted them. That is most likely the cause of the resistance in acceptance of death in the sense of wanted to keep the body and not have it properly buried and set to a peaceful rest.
Miss Emily's father did let her have suitors as she was growing up or would scare them off. That forced Emily to think of her father as the only suitor for her and her protector. When he died and Miss Emily met a man that could possibly be the one for her, a Mr. Homer Barron, a northerner day laborer...
