The environment in which a company operates directly influences its functions and culture. There are two parts to an organizations environment. They are known as the macro environment and the microenvironment. The microenvironment is also known as the specific general external environment, is consisted of many elements, which are linked to the organization "based on relationships rather than things"(Dixon,R.,1991, Management Theory and Practice, Rob Dixon, London.) In other words they are the "forces acting on the organization from the outside". They are the suppliers, competitors, government agencies, publics (pressure groups), financial institutions, labour unions and customers.
