Just to reply to Smiley, by not vaccinating your children you are not only putting the lives of your children and those whose parents have also decided that MMR is not right for them at risk, but those who are immuno-supressed (sp?) due to chemotherapy, those without a spleen due to serious illnesses that cannot have the MMR, these children and others like them rely on the herd immunity that only comes when enough children get vaccinated. The WHO (World Health Org) DO believe that the MMR is safe, and the only reasons that the single vaccines are not available on the NHS are due to the lack of immunity in between each jab and the fact they are not licensed for use in the UK on children. How could any government recommend giving drugs which have not been thoroughly researched? The only good thing that has come out of the controversy surrounding the MMR is that there has been LOADS of research, and not one has been found to prove a link between MMR and bowel disease/autism.
