Today we have many different film genres. One of them is horror.
A horror film can is a movie that frightens you. It speaks directly to your imagination, via what you see and, what also has a big impact, what you hear. The music can transform a nice and cozy night into your worst nightmare. It's playing with your mind so you can really feel it like a monster or whatever it is that you fear, is maybe behind the curtain or under the bed. But when there's light nothing looks scary so the dark is also part of what gets the adrenalin running. So a horror film is all about creating an atmosphere.
