Chapter 1
Marianne's father was angry with his daughter that evening. Her father was angry because she didn't work and didn't help her parents. He said that they can't keep Marianne any longer and that she must go out to work or find a husband. But Marianne wanted just to be alone and paint pictures. She got up and ran out of the house. Her parents were talking and talking about their bad girl Marianne.
Marianne often had a dream. In the dream she went to Malapa the biggest city on the mainland, she sold her pictures and got a lot of money.
Then she bought whatever she wanted. Once, a good looking man bought Marianne's paintings...
