Did you know there's an estimate of 21.5 million Americans that suffer from asthma (Source 5)? What is asthma anyway? We hear about it from time to time but some of us don't exactly know what it is. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways in which many cells and cellular elements play a role. The reason why I would pick a topic like this is because I had an interest in it. Most of my family and I have this disorder. I noticed that my father and brother have worse asthma than me and my sister. I have reasons to believe why but they are only predictions. What I would like to cover in this paper is the definition of asthma, the cause and effects, and what someone can do to cope with it...
