The Great Gatsby
Color symbolism is really important and a big part in the novel "The Great Gatsby." There is much color symbolism in this novel, but there are two main colors that stand out more than others. The colors green and white. There is also other symbolism that doesn't have to do with colors but with other people in the novel, other places in the novel, and even weather. Color symbolism is not very noticeable, yet it can tell a great deal about a story. In this novel, the colors give the reader a look at the character's choices and the paths he or she could have chosen compared to the ones the character chose, which adds a sense of suspense to the story.
First is the color symbols that you see in the novel, specifically green and white. The green stands for the different choices Gatsby can make. The Green light is a vision of Gatsby's goal, to have Daisy. In a world where Gatsby could have basically anything that he wants with his money, Daisy only wanted one thing, Daisy but was a challenge because she could not be purchased...
