Factors effecting the Australian Labour Force

The Australian labour force refers to all those people of working age (i.e. people between fifteen and sixty five years old) who are employed full time or part time or are actively looking for work. The size of the labour force is determined by a number of factors and relies largely on size and distribution of unemployment. There are various trends in unemployment in the 1990s, which vary in population, GDP and economic activity.
The size of the labour force if determined by this equation
Total Australian Labour force = Employed (full + part time) + Unemployed
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistic (ABS) the people counted in the labour force are:
Persons who are fifteen years of age and are currently employed for at least one hour per week.
Self employed persons working in a family or their own business.
Unemployed persons over fifteen years who are available for work and are actively seeking work.
