Holocaust Death camps: Auschwitz- Birkenau, (Kulmhof) Chelmno, and Madjdanek
There were 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, more than half were killed in the gas chamber system of the nazi Death Camps between 1942 and 1945. The names of the death camps where the Jews were killed were Treblinka, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Dachau, Chelmno, Sobibor, Belzek, Majdanek, and Stutthof. These camps were made for the purpose of killing Jews.
In my feature article I am going to tell you about 3 of the major Nazi death camps where the Jews were killed. The most common way of killing the Jews at these three camps was by using poison gas.
Chelmno
Chelmno was a Nazi extermination camp in Poland, the Germans called it Kulmhof. The camp was built for the killing of Jews from the Western Polish provinces.
Jews transported to Chelmno were forced, into vans, the doors were closed and locked and the motors were started. A hose carried poisonous gas fumes into the van. It usually took 10 or 15 minutes to murder all who were in the van...
