Paul Revere's Ride
Paul Revere's ride was pivotal event in American History. If it weren't for him we might not have ever gained independence from the British. Paul Revere rode through the towns surveying to see if the "red coats" were coming. He was watching over the town while the town's minute men and other town militia were sleeping. When he heard the movements of the British he rode through the town warning the townspeople that the British were on the move. The people responded by grabbing their arms and going to their perspective stations preparing for battle.
The Poem Paul "Revere's Ride" was written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in 1860. The Setting was Lexington and Concord during the time of the American Revolution. It was a time when Americans were fighting to gain their independence from the British. "Paul Revere's Ride" was written to give us an idea of some of the events that took place during the American Revolution...
