The Identity of Life
Identity is another word for individuality, but what exactly is human identity? ... There is no right or wrong answer, but yet people are constantly questioning their, and other people’s, identity. ... Some people are curious as to when and how the human identity came to exist. Does a person’s identity come with the creation of their life, or does a person make their own identity as their life progresses? Even the creation of life is questionable. ... This does not fully explain if the God is the creator of a person’s identity, but it does clarify that God is the creator or life. ... He made it so the only way to create another life is to have a man and a woman. An example that supports the fact that God does not create the human identity is the Tower of Babel. ... If God were the one to create identity, then the people wouldn’t have attempted to build the tower because their identity and intentions would be of God’s liking. Since God does not create a person’s identity, only their lives, then it could be the mother and father, the environment, or the actual person to create their identity. Cain killed his brother Abel, so Cain’s identity was established when he murdered Abel. ... This confirms the fact that the parents do not determine an individual’s identity. ... Although people create their own identity, other people certainly have an influence on it. Whether helping, or hurting, everyone has some sort of affect on other people’s identity.
