Jackie Robinson, a man who broke the color barrier in professional sports and made it possible for African Americans to play professional sports. ... Mack, who was Jackie’s idol, later went on to compete in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin”1 Seeing that his brother succeeded in life, made Jackie work harder to succeed.

His army career was also cut short due to a court- martial sparked by Robinson’s objections to racial discrimination, therefore he was honorably discharged” 4
Later on in Jackie’s career the Negro League who play a major roll in the baseball part of Jackie’s life. ... And leading the way was Jackie Robinson himself” 5 Again Jackie owes a lot of his baseball success to the Negro League, and it’s players. ... ”6 I wish that I could have been alive to see the day that Jackie Robinson made his debut in the major leagues. ... “In 1947 Jackie Robinson first donned a Brooklyn Dodger uniform, he pioneered the integration of professional athletics in America. ... ”4 Being black in a league that was dominated by whites, Jackie was picked on. “ After being court-martialed for refusing to move to back of the bus, Jackie promised Dodger president Branch Rickey that for the sake of their noble experiment, he would refrain from retaliating against racial slurs.
