Cambodian Genocide
Ethnic rivalry, human disaster, and sheer cold blooded killing are just a few words that describe the Cambodian Genocide. Cambodia was ruined when a group called, Khmer Rouge took over and changed the country around. Innocent humans were tortured for no reason at all. One fifth of there population was destroyed over a period of four years. Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge changed Cambodia into a hell hole for any innocent human living there.
Cambodia is a poor country located in South Asia. More or less than 80% of Cambodia's population are original Cambodians, 10% is made up of Chinese and Vietnamese, and the remainder of the population ranges from Japanese to Europeans (Carvin). In the 1860's, Cambodia was colonized by France, but was granted independence in 1953. King Norodom Sihanouk ruled the country until he was overthrown by a group called the Khmer Rouge (Chandler).
