Terry fox is known as the angel hero of Canada. He is born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Terry fox was very active in sports during his growing up. In high school he was on the basketball team that is where he started to feel his knee pains on his right leg. Terry visited the doctor, after these pains started hurting Terry badly. In 1977 Terry is just 18 year old; the doctor diagnosed Terry with bone cancer. Terry doesnt have any other choice but to get his right leg amputated, six inches above the knee, in 1997.
Terry realized there was very little money for cancer research. So he decided he would run across Canada, with his artificial leg, hoping to raise money. Finally after eighteen months of training, terry convinced the Canadian Cancer Society to help sponsor his run across Canada to raise funds and awareness for cancer research...
