Attention Getter: Imagine that the person of your dreams could be just a heartbeat away. Imagine that your ideal partner could be sitting in the same bar, walking down the same street or standing next to you in the supermarket line. Now, imagine a new mobile technology that can give you the chance to know if your love match comes within a few yards of your mobile phone?
Central Idea Statement: A new system called Serendipity hopes to make it easier for lonely hearts to find their perfect match by using their cell phones. A mobile phone service that discretely bleeps if he or she is within 10-yards could soon revolutionize dating.
The idea was thought up by researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
