"Tuition Hike"
Tuition is being raised yet again; at the same time aid is being revoked from students in dyer financial need. How much is too much? Since the inauguration of Utica College, tuition has increased on a yearly basis. One aspect that continues to boggle my mind is to what the annual increase is attributed.
While prices continue to increase, it appears as though nothing has changed within the school itself. It is a known fact that the economy is constantly changing due in part by rising unemployment, inflation as well as interest rates. All this contributing to the changes effecting the price and quantity of goods desired. With that being said, has our economy changed to such an extent as to incur a five percent increase? The objective of every college is to broaden its horizons by attracting a diverse class of undergraduates as well as graduates; although with such an increase in tuition how are students from varying socioeconomic backgrounds able to afford tuition? Utica College prides itself on its diverse student body as, "Utica College is home to 1,874 full-time and 303 part-time students from a variety of races, religions, and backgrounds...
