Aim
I am going to explore the effect of concentration of an acid, in a certain reaction between hydrochloric acid and some magnesium strips. The meaning of the words "rate of reaction" is a gauge of how fast a certain reaction takes place. Speedy reactions are completed in a short periods of time. A number of reactions are very fast, e.g.; A bomb explosion. In this investigation I will complete an experiment with different concentrations of acid reacting with magnesium, to investigate the effect it has on the reaction, (speed).
Prediction
I predict that as the concentration of the acid increases, the time it takes to make the magnesium disappear decreases. In other words, as the acid gets less dilute it will react faster. I predict that when the concentration of the hydrochloric acid doubles, the reaction rate doubles...
