Edgar Allen Poe
Edgar Allen Poe lived an abnormal life full of dreadful things. Living in the time of plagues and plague, Poe's life was ultimately changed by all that was around him. Poe's dramatic and horrific life influenced his writing. Having everybody around him die including mothers, wives, and other family members did something to Poe. Poe was a different writer from everybody else in the world, and it was because of his life, that his work was so different from everyone elses.
Poe was brought into this world on January 19, 1809, in snowy Boston. Both of his parents died before he reached the age of three and he was soon shipped off to live with his godfather, John Allen, in Richmond, Virginia. This was a blessing in disguise because John Allen and his wife were both childless and welcomed the infant with open arms. When Poe turned five he was shipped off to begin his education in England and Scotland. After the studying in Europe, Poe returned to his hometown and began to study at the University of Virginia learning different languages such as Greek, Latin, French, Italian, and Spanish...
