Aim
The aim of this experiment is to try and find the resistivity of constant on wire by using the equation p=RA.
L
p = constant, R= resistance, A= cross-sectional area of the wire and L= length.
I will find the resistivity by investigating a variable. The variable will be the length of wire then I will find out what sort of effect this has on the resistance.
To work out the resistance I will use the equation R=V
I
R = resistance, V = potential difference and I = current
Safety
There is a good chance during this experiment the wire will become hot, so it should be handled carefully, only if I know that the wire is cool enough to safely touch. I can just turn the power off and wait just in case.
The power should not be left on so the temperature of the wire increases.
