Racial discrimination is not limited to a person performing hateful acts on opposing races. Racial discrimination can also come from within. Self- hatred comes when a person of a particular group starts to see their own group through other's eyes. Gordon Allport is the author of The Nature of Prejudice. Allport's views on prejudice are expressed throughout his work. Prejudice is defined as "an antipathy based upon a faulty and inflexible generalization. It may be felt or expressed. It may be directed toward a group as a whole, or toward an individual because he is a member of that group" (9). The movie, The Believer, is about a young man named Danny Balint.
