This paper is going to examine Congress and President Bush's decision to expand prescription drug coverage under Medicare. First we are going to begin with a brief history of the bill. We will then review the current Bill; how and when it came into effect and the costs. It will be important at that time to examine the decision-making efforts that went into the final Bill. Also this paper analyzes the critical thinking and decision-making values, biases and other factors that may have led to the decision. Other issues of interest pertaining to this subject are the views of the opponents and their stance on this topic. Finally, we will gather some current information from the government so that we can see what is actually being offered today to our senior citizens and others that are eligible for the program.
