In the essay entitled "Will Ozone Blob devour the Earth," Edward C. Krug sets up an argument between environmental science and real science's position on the ozone layer. He attempts to discredit those on the side of environmental "science" by making the claim that there is a distinction between their science and the "real" science of scientists. He uses rhetorical and emotive force in an argument against environmental scientists, i.e. NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Bush administration, Greenpeace, Sen. Al Gore, and others, and their decision to ban chlorine and bromine in all human-made substances; yet, he does not provide any concrete explanatory definitions, is purposely vague, and does not cite any credible sources other than himself.
Firstly, Krug's essay title "Will Ozone Blob devour the Earth?" creates a hyperbolic image that reecho the 1958 Hollywood major motion science fiction classic "The Blob." In this horror flick, "the Blob" was a shapeless, flesh dissolving mass that emerged from a fallen meteor and grew larger with each victim it absorbed...
