Cochlear implants are a good way for deaf to get some hearing back if not all of it. Many people look at deaf people as if they have some deformity and cannot contribute to everyday life. Cochlear implants can help them in their lives. In school, there are many different ways for deaf to learn as the hearing.
American academy of otolaryngology says, "A cochlear implant is an electronic device that restores partial hearing to the deaf." Unlike a hearing aid, it stimulates the nerve of hearing in turn making the person hear. The implant does not work for everyone. Some people that the hearing aid works for cannot get a cochlear implant. In addition, when getting one there is a lot of testing and money that goes in to it.
