Motocross
Since the invention of the motorcycle in 1885 by a German inventor named Gottlieb Daimler we have seen this machine transform and change into many different shapes, forms, and sizes. From your boss hoss cruisers with v8 engines and 500+ horsepower all the way down to your 50cc mini bikes with 2.5 horsepower. Today there are motorcycles made for anybody and anyone no matter how good you think you are and how bad you really might be. But for me and others like myself there is only one motorcycle that we ride, a dirtbike, hands down the most challenging form of riding ever.
It would not be until after the second world war that dirtbike racing would take its first breath. As an infant motorcycle racing was mostly concentrated on a "flat track" style of competition were racers would just go around in circles on an obvious dirt track. Usually held far out on a pasture of land or at horse tracks across the country, flat track racing was beginning to die out. Overseas though the Europeans were organizing the first outdoor races on an all natural terrain track in which they called motocross. Although motocross was gaining recognition slowly in the early 60's it wasn't getting the notoriety it deserved...
