Imaginative journeys are journeys of the mind that can be taken from your armchair, or even your chair in the classroom or work place. They can be easily pursued from sitting on a train, or basically anywhere. They allow us, through the vice of our imaginations, to escape from the reality that binds us to the earth and the rules of the physical world. They allow us to do things that we may never be able to do, and allow us to travel outside the box of our physical existence, as in an imaginative journey, anything is possible. This theme is demonstrated in many different texts, including William Shakespeare's 'The Tempest', in the excerpt from the novel by Kenneth Grahame 'The Wind in the Willows', Martin Brest's film, "Meet Joe Black' and through the television advert for 'Mizone Sports Water.' All these texts, and many more have incorporated elements of an imaginative journey and are the work of the imagination of their respective composers.
