Harry S Truman

Harry Truman was born in Lamar, Missouri on May 8th in 1884. In 1890, he attended the public school in Independence. He was a son of a Mule Trader. His middle name is "S", it doesn't stand for anything. In his teen years, he had his first experiences with politics. His job was a page Democratic National Convention in Kansas City. He was impressed, hearing "Bill" Jennings Bryan speaking. After his graduation from school he worked in a mailroom at the Kansas City Star, as a bank clerk, and later as a bookkeeper. When he was twenty-two his grandmother died and he became a successful farmer. In 1914, after his Dad's death he worked as a postmaster of Grandview and he began going back to Kansas City regularly to attend meetings of a Democratic political club...
