The Industrial Revolution began in England around the late 1700's. This period of change brought about many positive effects as well as negative ones on the economic and social life of the people of England. As shown in the documents people had different opinions on the industrial factories and the conditions in England at this time.
Some positive effects of the revolution were that the growth of factories and industry increased greatly. Goods could now be produced in large quantities and work that used to be done by hand was now done by a machine. People were surrounded "with an infinite number of comforts and conveniences" (doc.5) which did not exist before. Goods such as clothes and food were cheaper, houses were built with better quality, and there were many new tools to help people with everyday tasks (doc.5). Travel was also faster and cheaper (doc...
