Are Students Better Off with the Current Grading System?
Students were introduced to the current grading system as of September, 1999. Rather than using percentages, we as students receive levels 1-4 until our final report evaluation. We are also evaluated according to our knowledge/ understanding, thinking/inquiry, communication, and application skills. This grading system is by far ineffective because it is rather vague and it does not give students with any minor disadvantages (e.g. Students that have English as their 2nd language) a chance to redeem themselves. It disables students to reveal their ability to succeed based on their achievement through the current grading system.
