Today in our society, to be a female holds two meanings. ... Our society has a way of making women conform to the images displayed in the media, those being, skinny women, pretty women, and sexy women. Due to our society and the media advertising such images, I feel as though many females have misjudged the true meaning of the word feminine. ... At the same time, these images of women are floating around in our society due to the media, and they are influencing some women to be like the models, skinny, pretty, and sexy. ... ”
I think that society views the word feminine as all of that, but I think that it really has lost its true meaning. ... Advertisements are what help define this false sense of femininity in our society and I think that it is sick that so many women have fallen into the traps of the media. ... It is the saddest thing to watch young women and teenage girls give themselves up to conform to the images in society. ... But I always think if those girls had just understood the true meaning of the word feminine, then maybe they wouldn’t be so caught up in the false meaning, the one given to the word by society.
I fully understand why our society is constructed the way that it is. ... However, the youth of our society looks at those images and sees women that were made to do that. ... Most females don’t understand that though, and so they continue on to think that this is the norm and that they need these products.
