There have been many great running backs to march onto the fields of the National Football League, but I don’t think any of them have been quite like Barry. ... Today, we are going to talk about some the important values that one can learn from possibly the greatest running back of all time, Barry Sanders. ... Although Barry usually avoids the spotlight, he had been in the full gleam of its shine since he entered the NFL in 1989, and left the NFL after the 1997 season. ... Now that we’ve taken a look at Barry’s humbleness, and his ability to be a team player, lets take a look at his generosity, and lastly, his determination.
One time in 1990 during the last game of the season, Barry was less than 10 yards away from being the NFLs leading rusher for that year, yet he let his secondary go into the game (since they were so far ahead) instead of staying in the game himself to break the record.
