The process of change brings new insights and new challenges. An analysis of 'Away' by Micheal Gow and related material.
The process of change is an important part of any individual's emotional and physical development, which usually brings new insights of one self or the surroundings. New challenges also arise from this process, so that through the self changing, we can become a better person. In the play 'Away' by Michael Gow, Gow uses the idea of physically going away, in the experience of three couples, to present to us how people gain new insights of their lives through change and how new challenges are brought into their lives. He used various techniques such as symbolism and allegory to achieve this. The following texts also convey the similar ideas: the prose 'Sky High' by Hannah Roberts (B.O.S stimulus booklet) and the film 'About Schmidt' directed by Alexander Payne (2002, New Line Cinema).
