Introduction:
It is my first day of work as an Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Faith Community Hospital and I have been faced with several challenges that need my immediate attention. I will need to make a preliminary report that will address these challenges and make some proposals for dealing with these challenges.
Problem Overview:
Medical Errors V The hospital faces legal and moral issues in regards to medical errors. Thousands of deaths are caused each year at hospitals around the country due to medical errors.
Inconsistency in Medical Services V The hospital has had incidences where some patients have refused recommend medical services, and we also have some staff members who refuse to administer recommend medical services.
DNR Inconsistencies V While the hospital does have a DNR directive, it has no clear policy on the use of Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders.
Failure to employ current DNR Policy V Despite the fact the hospital does have a DNR policy in place; the directives are not being implemented as directed.
Doctors providing unauthorized treatments V There are reports of Doctors and Pharmacists providing unauthorized treatments and accepting payment in installments for services and goods rendered.
